This cricketer took a transitional shift and ventured into real estate and now delivering straight drives and leg glance through his construction and development projects.

As a cricketer, Rahul Borkar has won a lot of laurels before he decided to open up his construction firm. With his new venture, he wants to attain new heights in the field of real estate and construction in Bhopal’s realty sector. He has a vision of providing affordable housing with quality construction, thereby improve the lifestyle of common man. With this noble objective ‘Saish Construction’ is delivering new projects under able guidance and leadership of Rahul.

He had played professional cricket and figured out that the game has a short shelf life and hence as a secondary measure, he got into real estate. His family had a small land parcel and the idea of developing that land struck him and that itself marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey. Now with 8 years into this segment, he is trying to create a brand of excellence among other competitors in the market.

He takes pride in being a Ranji Trophy player and be a part of ‘Royal Challengers Bangalore’ team. He is now BCCI level 2 coach, imparting training to young boys and girls and thereby preparing them for national and international level competition. He enjoys travelling and learning new things, besides being a fitness enthusiast. He also aspires to be a politician someday.

His mother has always been his inspiration. After losing his father at a very early age, his mother played a huge role in shaping up his career. It’s his mother’s will and strong determination that made the roller coaster ride of life much smoother. His father-in-law has also been a guiding force in his professional life.

He was aware that there would be ups and downs in this journey, yet he dared to take up the challenge and jump into building his firm from scratch. All the struggle he faced made him stronger and lifted him up from every low. Since, he had never dealt with real estate before, initial days were difficult. Understanding the process, dealing with contractors and vendors, using the right techniques and all took time. Sine, he is into the business of building homes and selling dreams to customers, he had to be very careful in dealing with all subsidiaries which contributed to his firm’s success. Hence, it was time consuming process and he had to experience it all by himself.
While it looks great now, but Rahul too had to face the challenge of entrepreneurship. His transitional shift from cricket to real estate without any prior experience was a huge risk cum challenge. But as a fearless cricketer who never shy away from the bouncers, he gracefully took on those professional challenges and sailed through smoothly. Gifted with sharp business acumen, he rightly gauged the opportunities in the market, he points out “I am basically from Karwar and I witnessed a lot of growth and development happening along the coastal region because of naval base and nuclear power plant. So, I realized that the need of the hour is to provide affordable housing with quality construction to the locals and was quick to grab the opportunity.”

He is an enthusiastic soul and gives 100% in whatever he does. A shift from cricket to real estate was an enthusiastic journey for him and he is enjoying the ride to its fullest. Thereby acting as an inspiration to all young entrepreneurs out there.
