The woman behind Space Theory (www.spacetheory.in), an Interior Design company based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Taha Lotia & Swarali Shinkhedkar founded Space Theory in 2016. It all started when two best friends were having chai at their favourite chai tapri and one of their common friends gave them the idea to try designing their relative’s house just for practice. So, they went ahead with it and started working on their first 3 bhk project. Today, Space Theory has worked on over 72 projects.
SpaceTheory has successfully completed 72 projects. The team has been working on residential and commercial projects serving PAN India. Good interior designs always soothe the soul. The contentment and confidence which is experienced by having a well-furnished property are immeasurable. This is exactly the impact and delightful
experience that team Space Theory aims to create for their clients.

The team’s designers will work with you, to understand your vision, and your dream and will deliver something better. Both the co-founders have a dream to take Space Theory to a global level. They want to have their branches in almost every state of India. They both dream that every space should be designed and look beautiful and every type of person should get that satisfactory smile on their face. Teamwork and the passion to put their names and the company’s name in the thoughts of every Ahmedabadi.
Struggles came specifically at the time of COVID when projects were on hold and they also had to sit at their respective homes. It was utterly frustrating and the tension was at its peak because they needed to give salaries to their team and manage all the other expenses without getting income for almost 3 months but by god’s grace, they copped it up well after unlocking 1 and honestly to regain that fear from clients and team was actually needed.
The women started from Ahmedabad and getting references proved to be the best way to grow business in Gujarat. A good Entrepreneur should be able to deliver what he envisions. This has been their strength where they deliver exactly what clients have dreamt. The team recently completed a 6000 sqft restaurant named Makeba in Ahmedabad and it has both indoor and outdoor seating. It is indeed the best project of their team because it has to be completed within a given timeline and it turned out to be pretty well.
Both founders completely believe in sustainability and the team has used many old furniture of clients which has their sentiments and have revamped it in such a way that they were also very happy after looking at it. As the world is heading towards development and urbanization, Architects and designers are the need of the hour. The advice to the upcoming architects and designers would be to stay focused, give their best and thrive in the competition. Create simple yet elegant designs which make the world as beautiful as your imagination.
