Rahul Patel is the Director and Owner of Artware, an architecture firm that specializes in clean, minimalistic, futuristic, and functional design. Rahul started his firm in 2015, driven by his love for aesthetics and an eye for detail. He comes from a business family, and his father’s profession inspired him to explore new materials and design trends. Rahul’s love for travel, adventure, and food also drives him to explore new things.
Rahul believes that designing has a significant impact on society. Good design leads to better living and working spaces, changes mindsets, and results in peace of mind. Artware’s specialization lies in giving life to a project by giving users something to cherish every time they use the space, be it in a functional or aesthetic way.
Starting a new business comes with its own set of challenges. Rahul faced the challenge of landing new projects and gaining people’s trust for designing their spaces. However, he started with small projects and did not say ‘NO’ to any project, no matter how small it was. He believes that every step taken towards success is like climbing up the staircase.
A strong determination, followed by a solid force of loyal and satisfied customers, is the basic essential needed to start any business or profession. Rahul’s patience and ability to multitask have helped him handle each project well and make his clients happy and satisfied.
Rahul’s first project is closest to his heart because it gave him an experience that no other project could ever give. He believes that firsts are always firsts, and they hold a special place in one’s heart.
As a designer, Rahul believes that it is crucial to pave the road towards sustainable products and green architecture. The depletion of natural resources around the world calls for a shift towards sustainable and green architecture.
Understanding client psychology and requirements is equally important as having knowledge and skill in architecture. Artware believes that any design that is not comfortable for the user is not a good design. A good design is one that holistically meets the client’s requirements, keeping functionality and visual delight equally in line.
Rahul’s learnings from entrepreneurship and his profession are that it teaches you to be clear with the vision, sincere with the intent, and patient with the process.
